I’m making the brunch cardigan & am at rows 5-8 of the sleeve extensions. Rows 5-8 are to be a rep of Row 4 but Row 4 is dc in dc & ch1 spaces. And my row 5 is now all dc with no ch1 spaces. What happened ? Or was there a correction to row 5-8 somewhere that I missed. This is a paid pattern I ordered in august 2021.

When I’m working the hexagon extensions, I have finished side 3 and side 4 extensions but when you go to work on side 5 and side 4 extensions side 4 is built up from working it on the right side? How do I continue the left side of side 5 to side 4 if side 4 is to high? I hope that makes sense.

In reply to Debbie. I think the confusion might be coming from the fact that you don't skip the first dc in those rows, so you're technically adding another ch-1 sp at the beginning and end of each row. Does that make sense? I've changed the wording in the pattern to help clarify. :) Jess

Those are the numbers related to the larger sizes. So the first number is always related to the smallest size and the subsequent numbers are related to each larger size after that.

S/M (M/L, L/1X...)

In reply to Anna. Okay, I think I understand your question. When you're assigning numbers to each side, it should be with the RS facing up. So then once you flip it over to attach your yarn for the beginning of the extension, the side #s don't actually change. (It can even be helpful to pin a label to each side so that you don't get disoriented when you're flipping it around.) So possibly, it might have been worked on the wrong side for the first hexagon, but luckily I think you might have the right location for the second hexagon? If that's the case, you can just save that one and then make a second hexagon following the directions for the first (right) side. Does all that make sense? :) Jess

Ok I am trying so hard to figure out the back and bottom extensions...I must admit I’m not the most proficient pattern reader, I do much better with the charts, which is why I purchased the pattern! But on the back and north extension without the chart I’m a bit confused, when you say fixed sides, does this mean no matter if the WS OR RS is facing up side 3 is the same location? I’m also struggling not having the chart to know am I continuously working from side 4 to side 3?

I purchased the Brunch Cardigan got to row 5 and have a problem.
To my way of thinking one repeats round 4, over while increasing the number of dc, but when I count on the guide, it is entirely different. Could I please get an explanation of rows 5 - 7.. I wonder where my thinking has gone wrong.
I am making M/L size..

I love this pattern!! Buuuut I forgot to gauge the first time around so I ended up with a giant snuggie like monstrosity... Had to go down two hook sizes but this go around is looking so much better. Anywho. Don't be like me. Remember to gague your projects ???.

In reply to Sandi Peterson. There is a neck opening, because you've added more spacing between the back area. (You do seam the entire length of the edge though, so none is flapping down in the front.) Feels hard to explain. Do the photos above make any better sense than I'm making, lol? Jess

I did find it took a little getting used to to crochet with, but my skeins definitely didn't have those issues. I hope the other skeins are working better! Jess

Wow! I just finished this in the eggplant shade as a gift and I am going to have to make myself one ASAP. What a fantastic pattern! It was so easy to follow (once I figured out how the hexagon grows), and I was absolutely amazed once I started seaming the pieces together. Thank you so much for all the hard work that went into making this available for us. I’m even more impressed that you did it while so very pregnant. I, too, was still pregnant at 42 weeks, and I wish I had done something productive... I put all my energy into moping about it instead. Hah!

Hi, just a query I am up to round 12, maybe I am misunderstanding the pattern. 12 is the round i am at which is a repeated of row 9, looking at the finished cardi by my reasoning I should be doing the dc all along and not making more spaces,as comparing mine to the picture after the 3rounds of spaces there’s seems to be about 6rounds of solids before more spaces. Hope this makes sense to you. Love the pattern and the other designs you have and always pleased to buy patterns as it is your intellectual property. Thanks Sandra

How did you get the Vel-Luxe yarn to work? This yarn is already a nightmare to work with for me, and all I've done thus far is try to wind it into a ball. I'm barely halfway through my first skein and have had 4 really poorly done tie-offs that immediately broke as I wound, and the flocking or whatever has just flaked off the thread once it's cut or breaks. Did you encounter this at all, and if so, do you have any solutions? I'm really hoping this is just a crappy skein and that my others won't be like this, but I'm not holding my breath.

One question:, for the extensions, in row 2 it says I should have 35 squares per side (size m/l) and I just can’t figure out how that’s to happen. Am I missing something or is this a typo?

Hi Again!
I have a follow up to my question about about washing and drying Veluxe yarn.
I ended up purchasing a ball. Crocheted a 16” X 16” swatch. Stuck it into the washer with a few other garments. Washed on delicate cycle and dried it on ultra low heat with Bounce dryer sheets. My swatch came out beautiful and remained a 16”x16” after laundering. I’m thrilled! My kitty has a little pallet with the swatch now. Ha! Ha!
Just thought I’d follow up in case anyone else was interested. :-)!

Been trying to crochet a baby blanket in Bernat Baby Velvet and having a horrendous issue with the yarn looping. Will this yarn and pattern have the same issue? I have both yarns but after wasting too much yarn (destroyed) due to frogging and the looping issue, I was wondering how this sweater is after hand washing? LionBrand Vel-Luxe instructs to hand wash and dry flat. I will definitely be making this beautiful cardigan pattern this winter. Looking forward to your response when you have the time and thank you for all your wonderful patterns (in the process of finishing the cardigan crocheted with LB's Comfy Cotton Blend - my first attempt at making a cardigan).

Beautiful! I cannot wear such a bulky large sweater. However I would like to make this one by reducing the size. If I pick a bust size one or two sizes smaller than my measurements would this work? Not sure how to make it a slimmer size? Help!!

I am just finishing my first hexagon and working on the right side first addition and was wondering if the chain 1 space count was correct on row 2 and three, or if that count actually included the corner space. Amazingly beautiful cardigan! I am so excited to have such a lush sweater to be working on. The yarn feels like heaven in my hands! I do have one question. In Round 2 of the hexagons, you say to work into ch-2 spaces, but in Round 1, the chains were only one stitch long. Am I misunderstanding?
