I learned to crochet at the age of 22 when my sailor husband sailed on his first deployment. My hands have been busy ever since, my kids don't know their mom without hooking yarn; the best relaxer for me ever.

In reply to Hannah. Hey Hannah, You're bringing up a good point--the pattern isn't actually written in the course because it's voiced over the entire time. Perhaps I'll get to putting it in written form soon to accompany the course. Given that it's geared toward complete beginners, it's quite straight forward, so you could probably just watch the couple of specific videos on making the mitts and I'm guessing you'd have the pattern understood and memorized right away. I am just getting back into crocheting and would love to make one of those c2c patterns. I just haven't found a good video on pattern that teachers it clear enough (I don't know how to read the patterns when they is no written directions). I am hoping I can get some help on here. My Mom. and Grandma both crocheted and helped me with it, but I started, to learn at public elementary school. They taught a short course of it in 2nd grade. I didn't do it for many years and so I relearning now and am loving it. Very relaxing and rewarding.

I learnt to crochet in the 1970s. Hadn't picked up a hook for yonks'. Then my niece had a baby ,asked if I ccould crochet ,said I could . Now I'm wondering why I stopped. So I am now rather rusty

My great-grandmother taught my grandmother to knit & crochet. My grandmother taught my mother to knit & crochet. However, when it came time for my mother to teach me, she ( God bless her) tried & finally said I would never learn. Years later, I decided it was time I learned. I ended up teaching myself, with the help of a co-worker who was able to explain the basics to me. That was 40 years, millions of stitches & many miles of yarn, ago. I will probably be buried with a crochet hook & a skein of yarn.
